Pumari Chhish Massif - Pakistan - Summer 2021

Memé during our acclimatisation process

Mathieu Maynadier (France) and I travelled to the Hunza valley in Pakistan in June 2021. We established a base camp on the Jutmaro glacier near the Pumari Chhish massif and acclimatised. We made an attempt at the south-east ridge of Pumari Chhish East (6850m) but on our third climbing day we awoke to very Scottish weather (heavy snow, strong winds and limited visibility). We continuing climbing until bailing around 100 metres below the summit. ‘C’est la vie.’
